The Frederick C. Robie house is currently protected by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. This trust proudly provides tours of the home, offering luxury car rental customers an inside look at nearly 100 years inside the home. Chicago Exotic Car Rentals highly recommends participating in one of these tours as they highlight a handful of the house's architecturally rich environs. Tours are available everyday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days. All proceeds from the tours go towards supporting the house's restoration and preservation. There are currently five different tours available to luxury car rental tourists. These include the Robie House Interior Tour, the Historic Neighbors Walking Tour, the Combination Robie House + Historic Neighbors Self-Guided Audio Tour, the Junior Architecture Tour and the Wright 3 Tour. Luxury car rental clients can also participate in a special line of ArchiTrek and ToursPlus programs, which explore the house's history more thoroughly. All tours are lead by trained interpreters providing visitors with insights into the amazingly contemporary spaces Wright designed nearly 100 years ago. Tour admission prices vary, but the average price is about $12 per person. Tours are usually held twice daily. Tour tickets can be purchased at the museum bookshop starting at 10am daily. Restoring an American Prairie Home
An extensive restoration project is currently underway at the Frederick C. Robie home in order to preserve the house for future generations. This monumental task is being preformed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust in accordance to the guidelines developed by the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Exterior restoration has already been completed on the house and interior restoration is in full swing. The Frederick C. Robie House will remain open during the restoration process in order to increase public understanding of the importance of architectural preservation. Luxury car rental clients are more than welcome to make a donation to the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust during their visit in order to help bolster the restoration process. These bricks could not be incorporated back into the restoration process and are now considered to be collector's items.
