Rent a Car Chicago and Monroe Harbor
Monroe Harbor is located in the heart of downtown Chicago with your Chicago travel guide. Monroe Harbor is home to the Chicago Yacht Club and the Columbia Yacht Club. Monroe Harbor serves as a great environment for aquatic recreational activities and is a great place to spend the day!
When you come with your Chicago travel guide, you will find the following:
- Approximately 1000 mooring cans are available in the harbor
- Transient mooring
- A tender service provides delivery and pickup to boats in the harbor
- Waste pump-out equipment is provided on a no charge basis
- Monroe Harbor monitors channels 9 and 16. The switch to/working channel is 68
Get on the boat
Friends and family can relax and enjoy the Monroe Harbor scenery with your Chicago travel guide by renting seasonal rentals (includes two tender passes). Visitors can charter private sailboats, go fishing, or even take their pleasure crafts out into the Chicago River. But make sure you read all of the rules here when you come with your Chicago travel guide, because some conditions apply.
Monroe Harbor only provides mooring can docks for boats up to 100 feet with your Chicago travel guide. Some of the moorings are reserved for transient dockings, so check with the Harbor Master's office on East Monroe Street next to the yacht club for availability. To rent a mooring for the full season, call the Chicago Park District Marine Department at (312) 747-0737. The tender service departs from the Harbor Master's office seven days a week; call (312) 742-7659. Fishing is permitted only within limited areas and requires a fishing liscence.
